“If anyone should not have been hurt by abortion, it was me. There was no doubt, I wanted the abortion…but it is like a cancer – until you deal with it, it affects every aspect of your life.”

“‘A 2011 meta-analysis published by the British Journal of Psychiatry concluded that women who had one or more abortions suffered an 81 percent greater risk of mental health problems than women who did not’ Complications: Abortions Effect on Women. The weight of evidence supports the conclusion that for a significant number of women abortion has a devastating long-term psychological impact. Complications: Abortions Effect on Women.”
– Michelle Tussing MSN, RN, RDMS, Choices Director of Medical Services

“I suspect that previous abortions are a major cause of depression and anxiety as my patients will occasionally go into more detail about their experiences. Because most patients don’t talk about their previous abortions, even to their health care providers, much of this anxiety is held inside and not dealt with by the patient.”
