Note: You cannot transfer “book-entry” shares of stock electronically via DTC if you hold them in a Direct Registration System Account (DRS) or through a Dividend Reinvestment Program (DRIP) with a transfer agency like Computer share, BNY Mellon, or another agent. In order to obtain the shares, we will finish our portion of the transfer form and send it to the agent. Please contact us if you need any further help.

More on gifts of stocks and other securities

For charitable purposes, a gift of stock must be valued according to specific guidelines. The value of a philanthropic donation of stock is calculated by averaging the high and low stock prices on the gift date. Shares of mutual funds are valued using the fund’s closing price on the day the donation is made.
