GREATER THINGS
DURING AND BEYOND COVID-19
As Christian author and preacher Francis Chan stated in response to COVID-19, “Across the globe, God has pulled the plug on everyone’s treadmill of life.” All our plans and goals that have taken the focus off of Christ have been put on pause as He captures our attention, we take stock of what is “essential,” and realign our focus on Him.
Today, Choices Pregnancy Centers (formally CPC of Greater Phoenix, Inc.) continues to serve on the frontline of culture promoting LIFE, Godly relationships, and sexuality. Through God’s grace, our services at Choices are “essential,” according to Arizona Governor Doug Ducey’s Executive Order, paving the way for us to continue to demonstrate and share a Greater Love to a community that right now needs it more than ever.
I’m humbled by what God has done through His people and this organization over the past 37+ years. Thank you for your partnership along the way. Following is a brief overview from our last quarter of ministry. My goal in sharing it is to give you a sense of hope that God is moving in our community. I continue to look forward with great expectation in regards to how God will shape us as individuals and as an organization as we continue to demonstrate and share a #GreaterLove4PHX in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.

GREATER ORGANIZATION
We’ve been asked if Choices will apply for a loan/grant through the Federal Government’s CARES Act, which includes the Payroll Protection Program. Choices’ leadership team has decided not to participate in the program for a number of reasons specific to our ministry. We simply didn’t feel it was in the best long-term interest of Choices. However, we have made what we believe are prudent operational adjustments to become even leaner, while continuing to offer our clients high-levels of service. In addition, besides the mortgage on two of our centers, Choices operates debt-free.
While our calling and mission remain the same – to transform culture and the lives of young women, men, and babies in regards to unplanned pregnancy, healthy relationships, and sexuality, our intent is never to return to a pre-COVID normal.
Instead, we are trusting God that we will be sharpened, coming out of this as a more effective, efficient, and leaner organization to be used for even greater Kingdom impact.

GREATER LOVE
“WHY IS CHOICES STILL OPEN – AND WHY ARE YOU SO HAPPY?”
A phone call came into one of our centers and on the other line was a woman crying. She explained that she was determined to get an abortion and had just gotten off the phone from an abortion clinic. She said through her tears that the person she had talked to was so rude. She went on to explain that she wanted to talk to someone prior to having the abortion and that they refused to provide any counseling. She was so frustrated she searched for alternatives and found Choices Pregnancy Centers on the internet. Our Choices staff member shared that we don’t perform or refer individuals to abortion clinics, but we are here to answer questions and provide free pregnancy test and ultrasounds.
The young woman scheduled a free pregnancy test with Choices. When she arrived the Choices advocate welcomed her and listened to her story. She shared her concerns and fears in having the baby. Among her many questions was, “Why is Choices still open during the Coronavirus emergency, and why are you still happy?” The perfect segway into a spiritual discussion. Her pregnancy test was positive, so a free ultrasound appointment was made.
The other day, this young woman showed up for her ultrasound. She was so excited to see her Choices advocate and blurted out that she was going to carry the baby!

A GREAT PAST.
A GREATER FUTURE!
Our past and future depend on God preparing the hearts of generous people like you to partner with us as we stand on the frontline of culture. Regardless of whether you continue to partner with Choices in the future as we demonstrate a Greater Love 4 PHX, we simply want to stop and recognize the part you have played in the journey.
